Seriously considering replacing my Budda speakers for Greenbacks

While they sound good I'm still leaning toward replacing them in my combo. I like the warmth and crunch of greenbacks better I think. Anyone tried greenies?

Other than the obvious differences, what are the differences circuit wise? For example is the rhythm channel of the SD pretty close to the Twinmaster? The obvious differences would be the tone stack and master volume on the SD of course. Did they start off with the Twinmaster circuit, add a 3 band tone stack, MV and drive channel?

wow I was digging it all night. I actually used the clean channel all night long and used different boost pedals for dirt......totally unlike me but it sounded great! I didn't even used the drive channel all that much

Is the 18 watt 1x12 combo loud enough with a drummer?

Does anybody have experience jamming with a drummer or even club gigging with the SD 18 Watt 1 x 12 combo? I played this today and just about fell over. GREAT sound and I couldn't make a wrong knob turn. ( I wonder if the electronics wizards have figured out how to keep us from making bad tone choices!).

I currently have a Reverend HellHound 40/60 1 x 12 combo and I've been able to get above a small band jam just fine with it, but I'm not sure if I want to risk needing to really crank ...

LOVE my SD 30...got it about a month ago, and the honeymoon still continues. However, I'm looking for JUST a little more chime/ sparkle on the top end, and I've heard the the JJ's will do just that compared to the stock Groove Tubes.

Stomp boxes - Effects Loop - or straight in no nonsense?

I noticed that playing directly into the SuperDrive 18 that I didn't feel a need for effects. With my current amp, I notice that if I run effects in front of the amp, there is a significant amount of noise. I'm sure there are others whom are annoyed by this. (BTW, the effects I use are pretty high quality: DriveTrain II, Sparkledrvie, Barber TonePress, and a StroboStomp).

I think part of the allure of this amp is the *directness* of the sound. I wouldn't want to mess with that using ...

Just wanted to post how much I love my SD30. It is a series 1 head I bought straight from Budda many years ago. I think it might have been 2001 or 2002, but I might be a little off. I dealt with Scott when I bought it... great guy. I've also spoken with Jeff B. a couple of times. Great people, great company, great amps!

Anyway, I've used it on hundreds of gigs.....never failed me.....always sounds great...........always brings the rock.

I have another amp I love now...a Hayseed 30 ...

Does everyone pretty much like the Budda Phat speaker?

I have the 212 combo. I think it just ok, I'd like to hear it in a closed back 412 and see if I'd like it better but I'm not a huge fan of them. I know its a unfair and bad comparison but when I connect the SD up to my greenback loaded Bogner 412 its Its just amazing how great it sounds with greenbacks!

This is the weekend where I seem to find perfect matches.

Match #1:

I replaced the Black Dog Bridge in my Edwards Les Paul with a VHII I had flying around. The Black Dog in combination with the light/bright Edwards had always a kind of annoying high mid peak. The VHII (in combination with the VHII neck I had in there already) is the perfect match, I am very happy with this now. A really good guitar, but it was difficult for me to find the right bridge PU.

After going on a quest to find the perfect amp for me, I decided to pull the trigger and order a SD 30 head. I'm pretty excited- I've gone thru several guitars in the couple of years, but have always played thru my trusty THD BiValve. I traced out the SD and its pretty different from any other amps for the most part but it seems to be based off the mid 60s Marshalls but without the extra fat

I mean its not dead on by no means but thats the closes to any marshall it resembles based on the tone stack and a few marshall values. For the most part Jeff and Dave Friedman (from rack systems) kinda did their own thing when designing it which is really cool and unique.

Super Drive II 18 Gain Channel Noise?

When my guitar volume is off or my Volume pedal off my gain channel seems to have alot of noise or hiss even at low levels like Master on 8 pm and Gain at 11pm. Is this normal for SDII 18's?

SD 80 or 45?

I'm presently the happy owner of a SD 18 but I want to run a head through my 2X12 Budda Cab and get more clean head room.

So it's really between the SD 45 or 80 if I stick with Budda for my next amp purchase.

I'm curious I know Joe Bonamass used Budda amps in the beginning, I was wondering if anyone knew what model and what he used on each CD.

Broken Baffle Board

My Twinmaster 1x12 has a broken baffle. My shop contacted Budda, and Budda does not have any replacements. So my tech is going to have a friend of one of his bandmates cut a new one. However, they don't see each other that often, and I've been waiting since Xmas.

Anyone know of someplace I could possibly get one a bit quicker?

I was just wondering what settings on the amp do you guys use for diffent style of music. Blues, hard rock, classic rock, and metal. I play a Les Paul style guitar and strat style. There are so many diffent cool tones that this amp can produce. Thanks for any input.

New member to the Budda family. SD18II 1x12 combo that simply is amazing.

Sweet new forum for the Budda lovers.

Amazing dirty /clean tones on the SD18 1x12 combo. I used to have to add a zvex box of rock to the cleans to get the edge, but no more. It's great to let the tubes sing at low and high volumes with this amp.
