New Amp Died!!! Empty
PostSubject: New Amp Died!!!   New Amp Died!!! EmptyMon Sep 13, 2010 7:28 am

I just finished a low volume practice with my new BUDDA SD-18. In the middle of my last tune the volume on the amp faded down to absolute silence over a period of about 20 seconds.

I'm still in the 20 day grace period for returning it to the store. What course of action should I take:hide2?

Thanks!

I would try throwing in a new set of power tubes if you have spares, and if that doesn't cure it replace the 12x's one by one (or all three if you have ones you know work) IF you have spares.
If you don't have spares take it to the store you bought it from and have them retube it.

Chances are it is just the tubes, I see it sometime at the store I work at with new combos (other brands, we don't carry Budda) that just came in.. UPS jars the hell out of them

If something else is going on I would get a new amp from the dealer even if you have to wait (or a refund and get one somewhere else)

I hope this helps!

I have a bunch of Groove Tube 12AX7s so I replaced all 3 of the OEM tubes and the problem has not returned... However I need suggestions for better tubes

Thanks!!!

I had this happen on an amp once, it was a dirty effex loop jack. You can check this by jumping the effecs loop with a patch chord. If that works, just clean the jack and you should be good. I hope this helps, good luck.

Totally agree with this post. I have to clean my FX loope jacks (specifically send) once every 4 weeks with switch cleaner or I get a similar problem SD80II only one of two downsides
